Model Output
Travel demand models are an invaluable tool that offers the MPO useful data to support the development of regional transportation plans and programs. Travel models offer a wealth of data and statistics aimed at analyzing transportation system deficiencies and assessing proposed improvements. These include data such as:
- Future traffic on existing and proposed facilities
- Future levels of service on existing and proposed roadways
- Point-to-point travel times
- Changes in average trip distances and times by trip purpose
- Number of trips to major activity centers
- Regional vehicle miles and hours of travel
- Future travel demand within a corridor
- Facility specific market analysis
Once the base year model is validated and TPP has completed the future year forecast application, the following data are provided to the MPO to support their long-range plan development:
- Base and Forecast Year Networks in TransCAD format;
- Traffic Analysis Serial Zone (TAZ) file in TransCAD format;
- Sector Layer in TransCAD format;
- TxDOT County File in TransCAD format;
- MPO Boundary File in TransCAD format;
- Base and Forecast Year Origin-Destination Trip Matrix;
- Speed/Capacity Table (.dbf);
- Area Types by TAZ (EA Card);
- Sector data by TAZ (ES Card);
- Comment for each SGZ (CMT Card);
- Demographic data, including population, households, and employment by TAZ (DA1 Card);
- Special Generation data, which can include additional population and employment information, by TAZ (SGZ Card);
- Plotting Layouts as in accordance with the maps delivered from TPP(T);
- Model Summary documentation;
- Facility Type Standards documentation and definitions;
- A TDM Mapping Macro and documentation for creating maps in accordance with TPP standards.
